Moon River

IMG_2617

flashbacks of you

I browse endlessly

through the pages

of my memory

inquiring all of you

in the luminous light

 of the silver blue moon

I find many an angel

 but

 it’s your eyes I’m seeking

your mouth, your hands

and through the window

the Southern Cross

caresses the night

and in her light

I find you

*

on the empty pillow

beside my own

  1. I don’t know why but this song that I stumbled upon while looking for David Garrett’s music came to my mind when I read your fabulous poem and then listened to the song, Moon River.

  2. Lovely!! With an unexpected ending. Nicely done.

  3. You always write such deep and soul caring poems.

wow!!! I really love this poem by you. 🙂

  4. Ah…for this poem you selected one of my favorite songs…I’ve had many a dream to that song….as I suspect many have had…another excellent poem.

Stunningly beautiful. Moon River was one of my mother’s favorite songs to play on her piano. It inspires me every time I hear it. I will be back to reblog this one on Saturday if it is okay with you 🙂

  6. Such a haunting quality! Beautiful poem – I love the end.
